An intersection where earth and heaven meet: how’s that sound? It sounds right and real, doesn’t it?
So, here we are in this passage. Everything’s restored. The number of apostles is twelve again. All followers of Jesus are gathered together in one place and of one mind.
Then, heaven and earth meet. Each person becomes a locus of this heaven and earth intersection.
You and I, too, are loci of this earth/heaven intersection.
God happened at Pentecost. All we can ever hope for of eternity or mortality, at least for a moment, made itself known in the most fundamental of places: human hearts; human minds.
IT SPILLED OVER INTO THE WORLD FROM THERE.
Something shifted in a major way. Finally, those following Jesus were transformed into truly the Christ-like.
Kingdom-coming and will-be-done-ing had been officially realized!
